Feeling Kind Of Dated (Or like I could use a new car)

You know how older people reminisce about how things were back in the day. Like before DVDs and iPods and cars and indoor plumbing and cell phones. I think you get the picture. Every once in a while someone will say something to the effect of, well you probably don't remember floppy disks or before cell phones or before CDs. I usually try and act like I know what I'm talking about. I have used floppy discs and VHSs and vinyl records, but in truth it was when I was little and minus the VHS tapes those things weren't a way of life for me like DVDs and cell phones and the internet are today. Sure I've seen vinyl records and have heard them played in my Grandpa's shop since I could crawl, but I've never owned one and I've never had one be my only form of music. This leads me to my actual story. I coach a soccer team and the girls are 8,9, and 10 years old. I was driving one of the girls to practice and I informed her that she might want to roll the window down as it is a '94 Jeep that has no A/C. She looked at the door and then looked back at me. "I don't see where to roll down the window." "It's right down there by your knee." She then saw a cord sticking out from under the dash. She pushed her finger on it. "Is this it." "Nope, it is actually that knob next to your knee. You have to turn it and the window will go down." "Oh" "Have you ever rolled down a window like this one?" In awe she said "No" Needless to say I laughed quietly to myself and grinned the rest of the way. Little things in life sure make your day : )
